Football, Charity & Community

Committed trade unionist and equalities advocate with first-hand experience in campaign planning, accompanying media plans, press comments and social media strategy.

I have broad experience of involvement in charity, public sector, and community work - including campaigns and awareness raising, advocacy and national change-making. Much of my charitable and community engagement has focussed on rights, equalities and inclusion, and advocating for underrepresented communities. This work has included media and public communications, involving to-camera broadcasts and interviews. A recipient of anti-racism and antisemitism training, I have produced reports, briefings and presentations on anti-discrimination campaigns and been involved in direct action.

Further, I have key PR and communications experience in football through my role as UEFA Euro 2020 Media Co-Ordinator, and partnership working with MND Scotland. Complementing the strategic vision of the Scottish FA’s lifelong participation goals, I organised, drafted and delivered a key PR campaign in fundraising for MND Scotland, highlighting the positive, lifelong power of Scottish football. Example of this can be seen here, here and here. Through this, I demonstrated my key ability to draft a case-study based narrative surrounding the positive, life-changing impact participation in football can deliver. This also highlights my ability to influence the media landscape in identifying key journalists and outlets to create a proactive media story in partnership with stakeholders, resulting in increased awareness, finance and participation in my campaign.
